UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov finally had his much-anticipated meeting with company president Dana White in Abu Dhabi on Friday. The undefeated Dagestani native announced his retirement after finishing Justin Gaethje at UFC 254.

Fans expected a clear-cut decision on Nurmagomedov‘s behalf to lend clarity on the lightweight division. However, White revealed that the Russian was still in limbo about his fighting future, as the champion has not made it 100% certain if he will ever fight again.

Conor McGregor will fight Dustin Poirier and Dan Hooker will welcome Michael Chandler to the UFC in the co-main event of the highly anticipated UFC 257 card. With two enticing lightweight contests coming up, there is a lot at stake.
