Nurmagomedov was an elite wrestler and used his insane ground game to win his bouts against the best fighters in the world. In a recent video, Khabib revealed one of the best strikers he’s fought against in his time at the UFC.

He said,” I think Michael Johnson have one of the cleanest boxing skills in UFC history, in lightweight history. For sure. Little bit similar, my opinion, not because I fight with him, not because of that. We can watch how many tough opponents he just beat.”

He then went on to compare Johnson to the lightweight fighter, Bobby Green. Khabib said,” he (Bobby Green) little bit similar, little bit. If you wanna finish him you have to break him.”

Nurmagomedov faced Michael Johnson at UFC 205 on November 12th, 2016. He won the fight via third-round submission.

Islam Makhachev will be returning to UFC action this weekend and will take on the American fighter Bobby ‘King’ Green in a five-round bout. Makhachev is currently training under the tutelage of Khabib and is on an incredible winning streak (9 wins).

In the recent video of Anatomy of a Fighter, Khabib spoke about Islam Makhachev and his upcoming opponent for UFC Vegas 49, Bobby Green.

He said,” Islam is a much better fighter than him (Green), like fighting IQ. Like physically, mentally, wrestling, grappling, winning streak, experience. Maybe experience same, but even like there is levels, you know. There is fighters there is champions and there is elite. My opinion is like Islam is elite in UFC right now. “
