UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is one of the most influential MMA fighters when it comes to the social media space. Nurmagomedov has garnered attention through his posts that are oftentimes rather straightforward and to the point. Chiefly, other fighters and personalities who tend to pop off seemingly go out of their way to get a conversation rolling.

A key part of his appeal certainly comes from his in-cage performances that have captured the attention of fans. ‘The Eagle’ has redefined what it means to be a dominant fighter in MMA, and his 29-0 record is a testament to that. Furthermore, his fights often lead to social media engagement like no other, and it’s clear he has a passionate fan base.

UFC 257  will play a pivotal role in judging whether Nurmagomedov will make a comeback to action. Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor will square off in a title eliminator, and should McGregor win, there’s a chance that Khabib returns. Dana White has been vocal about the fact that he’s keen to make Khabib vs McGregor 2, should the stars align. Unfortunately for Poirier, he’s unlikely to receive the same treatment given his smaller profile in comparison.

Additionally, UFC 257’s co-main event hosts Michael Chandler vs Dan Hooker, which is also a critical match-up. Chandler will make his highly anticipated debut, and fans have been waiting to see how he will perform. Nurmagomedov has been on record to be wanting a new challenge and an impressive win for either Hooker or Chandler could open new doors.
