The entire MMA community is always in a debate about who is the word’s no. 1 pound-for-pound fighter. Most of them usually pick the UFC light heavyweight GOAT, Jon Jones. However, the former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has someone else in mind.
The former UFC light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, has a spectacular professional MMA record of 26-1-0 (1 NC). He holds the record for having the most wins in UFC title fights history (14). As of August 2021, Jones rightfully holds the no. 1 position in the UFC pound-for-pound rankings.

Even though Jones has had an illustrious MMA career, Nurmagomedov still has someone else in his mind. In one of his recent Instagram posts, the ‘Eagle’ revealed his pick for the P4P best fighter in the world.
His Instagram post is a photograph of him with the current UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman. The ‘Eagle’ captioned the post – “With p4p best fighter in the World @usman84kg at #cytaka event in Dubai”.
Was Khabib Nurmagomedov right to pick Kamaru Usman?
Jones last fought against Dominick Reyes on February 8, 2020, at UFC 247. It was the third UFC light heavyweight title defense of his third reign. After five rounds of war, the bout resulted in Jones winning via unanimous decision.

‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ has a spectacular professional MMA record of 19-1. As of August 2021, he currently holds the second position in the UFC pound-for-pound rankings. If Usman keeps on claiming back-to-back victories before Jones makes his UFC return, he will rightfully so claim the first position.
