Khabib Nurmagomedov Reveals Why He Has Chosen Not to Have Surgery on His Medical Condition

It seems like having a cauliflower ear adds to your identity as a truly ‘savage’ fighter. A joke which goes around is that “never start a fight with someone with a cauliflower ear.” Although, calling a fighter ‘savage’ in combat sports is pretty common. But when you have to single out a few men, the 33-year-old Khabib Nurmagomedov makes for a top contender. Although now retired, Nurmagomedov is still popular and seen on talk shows and events talking about his ‘times’.
Recently, during a Podcast Show video, Khabib was sharing the issues he faces because of his ears. Hysterically, Nurmagomedov was asked whether he can listen properly. ‘The Eagle’ responded humbly to this question, “Of course I can”. He also answered why he doesn’t want to change or get his ears operated on. “I think you can fix. I believe you have to make surgery. like this but your ear gonna be more ugly,” he said.

It was really a funny moment when The Russian Superstar spoke of his troubles with earphones, “No, with headphones I have problem… they don’t stay inside.”, said Khabib.

He doesn’t want to treat his cauliflower ear, as he feels it might make it look bad. Well, The Eagle FC promoter is conscious about his looks after all.
What is The Story Behind the Ears of Khabib Nurmagomedov?
Since cauliflower ears are a common result of wrestling, sparring, and rigorous training, a lot of MMA fighters have cauliflower ears. For many fighters, it’s just how things are; it’s not that big of a deal.
For Khabib Nurmagomedov, it is something that he has carried almost all his life. The tough Dagestani fighter has been training for Sambo, Judo, and wrestling throughout his life.

The strikes and blows to your ears make the vessels burst out and they get swollen. As a result, you get these ‘cauliflower ears.’ Even the friction in the outer ears while wrestling can cause this.

Khabib’s years of practice and his fights have resulted in these cauliflower ears and are now a part of his identity. And the fighter doesn’t want to get any treatment done for this. He feels he is fine with his natural looks and treatment might make his ears look unattractive as a fighter.
