Khabib Nurmagomedov is undoubtedly one of the greatest fighters in MMA history. ‘The Eagle’ has one of the most impressive fight records in UFC history. Throughout his professional career, Nurmagomedov has been undefeated. The former champion holds a professional fight record of 29-0.

Nurmagomedov believes his father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, is responsible for all that he’s achieved in his career. He recently took to social media to put up an inspirational and emotional picture of himself and his father.

Khabib is very expressive when it comes to his father. He’s spoken about his upbringing in several interviews which have given fans a better understanding of his father. 

Nurmagomedov’s father was also his trainer and helped him become an MMA legend. Aside from his own son, Abdulamanap Nurmagomedov also trained many other Dagestani fighters, including Islam Makhachev and Zubaira Tukhugov.

Why did Khabib Nurmagomedov retire from fighting?

Khabib announced his retirement after the unfortunate demise of his father. His last fight was his title defense against Justin Gaethje at UFC 254. Nurmagomedov said that he made a promise to his mother that he would not continue fighting without his father on his side.

Dana White tried multiple times to convince Nurmagomedov to come back to the octagon. However, the fighter has remained true to the promise he made to his mother and turned down every offer, regardless of the payout.

Ever since his retirement, Khabib has shown the world that he is extremely talented outside the octagon as well. He has opened up many new businesses that have turned out to be extremely successful for him.

Khabib owns his own fitness brand, nutrition brand, and his own alkaline water line. The fighter also started his own mobile network company, which he named after himself, Eagle Mobile. He also started his own fighting promotion, Eagle FC.
