Kamaru Usman has showcased his brilliant grappling and proved himself as a dynamic striker by knocking out Jorge Masvidal in their rematch. Meanwhile, former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor is back in the headlines, preparing for his comeback.

Previously, a lot of speculations surrounded the former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion about his return. Now, McGregor has declared that he is eyeing his return to be in the welterweight division.
Moreover, he wants to face the pound-for-pound king Kamaru Usman for the UFC welterweight title. Seems like a rivalry has already started as Usman responded to this callout via Twitter.

In an initial Tweet, Usman said, “You guys want a murder scene in the octagon #p4p“
Following that Tweet, Usman posted a photo with his friend and McGregor’s rival, Khabib Nurmagomedov. Mocking ‘The Notorious,’ he said, “He said he’s gonna do what????”.

It appears, ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ believes a fight against McGregor would be a one-sided affair in his favor.

Khabib Nurmagomedov, who had a controversial rivalry with McGregor, has come into the picture again. McGregor, since losing to Nurmagomedov, has not fought for the belt to date.

‘The Notorious’ has previously fought in three weight divisions (featherweight, lightweight, and welterweight). This time, McGregor wants to pursue the only division where he has not claimed a title yet out of the above-mentioned, which is the welterweight division.

While calling out Usman, McGregor said that he does not want to deplete himself and is very confident about fighting Usman.

“There’s no need to deplete myself and I feel confident against Usman. Jab-happy, sloppy orthodox wrestler with no submissions whatsoever. What’s he gonna do? Where is the danger here?… His Ground and pound isn’t strong. Plus, he’s on the older side.” said McGregor.
