His rivalry with Conor McGregor saw the two men become mortal enemies and their feud still continues despite The Eagle’s retirement.

The two MMA royalties share more than just hatred. As a matter of fact, they have a mutual friend in football; Cristiano Ronaldo. The legendary footballer has been observed spending time with both on numerous occasions. As per a report by sportsjoe, McGregor, along with his team, ran into former Real Madrid Star in the lead up to UFC 202.

The duo even clicked pictures, and McGregor quizzed him about his plans for the night. This led to McGregor and his coach John Kavanagh tagging along to Jennifer Lopez’s party, where Ronaldo was headed. Kavanagh’s interaction with the star led to them talking about sports psychology. This compelled him to draw comparisons with his pupil, McGregor, and he realized both men share the same obsession with their respective sports.

Kavanagh said,” This guy is just like Conor. Just a one-track mind, no interest in anything else. Civilians would call them obsessed or say there was something wrong with them, but you can’t get to that level unless you have that personality.”

Ronaldo seems to be quite obsessed with improvement, and he also shared another key detail. The superstar revealed that he is actually a fan of not just his pupil, but Kavanagh as well.

Cristiano Ronaldo keenly follows Conor McGregor and his head coach

Kavanagh stated that Ronaldo would often find him during the party and continue to converse with him. At one point, the duo even participated in a friendly tussle, which only lead to Ronaldo making a big revelation.

Kavanagh said, “Ronaldo comes over and tells me that he reads everything I write and follows me on Instagram. I’m thinking ‘Wait until I tell my dad about this’.”
