There were rumors surrounding that ‘The Eagle’ may join politics since his retirement from all forms of MMA. However, a close source of Nurmagomedov has confirmed as reported by Tass.ru that the former lightweight would not pursue a career in politics. “Khabib does not plan to pursue a political career.”

Moreover, the source also added what other avenues Nurmagomedov might pursue in the near future. The source said, “It is likely that he can pay more attention to his football-related business.”

Nurmagomedov’s love for soccer is well known to the public. It seems that the former lightweight champion is seeking business opportunities in the world of soccer. The UFC legend already has a plethora of business in his portfolio.

His investments include a sports management agency, a fast-food chain, an MMA gym, and the famous MMA promotion, Eagle FC. Nurmagomedov is looking to add soccer to his wide portfolio of investments.

In a 2019 interview with Match TV, the Eagle FC owner said, “We’ll see. At the moment I have no such plans. Now I can benefit without politics. I want to stay free. When you are in politics, you have to devote yourself completely to this.”
