Khabib Nurmagomedov’s cousin Umar Nurmagomedov will make a return at UFC 272: Covington vs. Masvidal in a bantamweight clash against Brian Kelleher on March 5.
Umar Nurmagomedov was first supposed to fight Jack Shore at the March 19 UFC event. However, he pulled out of the fight only to get another booking in the same month.
Brett Okamoto of ESPN confirmed this match-up via his social media handles. He tweeted, “Umar Nurmagomedov vs. Brian Kelleher (@brianboom135) has been added to UFC 272 on March 5, per sources. In addition to the fight, Kelleher has signed a new UFC deal, as he announced recently.”

The undefeated Dagestani (13-0) made his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night: Chiesa vs. Magny and claimed an impressive submission victory over Sergey Morozov.
Brian Kelleher (24-12) is on a two-fight winning streak. In his latest outing at UFC Fight Night: Kattar vs. Chikadze, ‘Boom’ took home a decision victory against Kevin Croom. Although it was a featherweight bout, Kelleher will lock horns with Nurmagomedov in a bantamweight fight.
Apart from this exciting bantamweight clash, the third UFC PPV event of 2022 will have many other exhilarating fights as well.
