The world of combat sports is full of debates. Many of them are still ongoing because there are endless topics. Amongst the greatest of these debates, MMA-related ones can be counted on top. This debate hides behind a category since the question remains, ‘who is the best heavyweight fighter of all time?’ The question in itself is pretty conflicting and so is the answer. This is because it cannot be answered without a certain bias in mind and is highly subjective. Apart from the clear stats, there is not much to verify when it comes to an argument like this. Since fighters keep on joining and leaving the sport during different eras, it is hard to keep track. However, many popular personalities have also pitched in their view, including Khabib Nurmagomedov’s manager.

The infamous MMA manager, Ali Abdelaziz, recently joined in the debate to heat up the topic. The 45-year-old recently made a viral statement on Twitter commenting under a post. The topic of debate was to name the greatest heavyweight fighter of all time. Under the post, Abdelaziz managed to promote his own fighter in one way or the other.

The MMA manager knows how to pick a hot topic

While the post focused on different heavyweight fighters to choose from, Abdelaziz decided to go his own way with the argument. Under the post, he commented, “Fabricio Werdum beats Fedor and Cain finishes both.” Leaving the topic aside, the move played him in itself is argumentative. The manager knows how to bring up his own fighters in an argument. Abdelaziz talked about how Fabricio Werdum, a former UFC heavyweight champion, can beat Fedor Emelianenko. 

The wordplay was done keeping in mind that Werdum has been managed by Abdelaziz in the past. After leaving the UFC, the Egyptian manager signed his Brazilian fighter to the PFL, who now wants to fight in complete boxing tournaments rather than MMA. However, he did not blindly support his fighter against the Rizin Heavyweight contender. In fact, Abdelaziz found himself humbled at the mention of another former UFC heavyweight champion.

The fighter was none other than Cain Velasquez, who is known widely for his iconic tenure in the UFC. ‘Cardio Cain’ now works alongside UFC’s undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov in the same gym. It is pretty understandable why the retired fighter is getting the respect. Velasquez has owned his name by dominating the UFC Heavyweight division during his prime years.
