Leon Edwards’ ambitions are high with his UFC 296 match coming up. However, the UFC world may not have a lot of well-wishers for him in different divisions. Recently, the fighter opened up about his future in the UFC after the upcoming match and he didn’t aim low at all.
Will Leon Edwards be able to tear down his opponent, Colby Covington? If he does, the fighter wants to make history and move up to a different weight class to become a champion there. However, Khabib Nurmagomedov’s teammate and other UFC fighters have very little faith in him.

So is Edwards so wrong for wanting to be a champ in two divisions? Perhaps one of his greatest test is yet to come in the form of Colby Covington. However, the champion has been undefeated in eight years. He has a 12-win fight streak and those are not numbers to laugh at.
“Colby wants to go 155 Leon wants 185 They’re both terrified of me” Khabib’s teammate Belal Muhammad commented under the post. He was certain that ‘Rocky’ and Covington are both afraid of him. Muhammad currently enjoys a number 2 ranking in the welterweight division.
He is undoubtedly a challenge to Edwards. However, the two have crossed paths before in a match that ended in an unfortunate no-contest. All due to an accidental poke by Edwards. Will the two ever cross paths again? Certainly not if Edwards changes his weight class.
