Colby ‘Chaos‘ Covington will take shots left, right, and center as long as he breathes. The fighter proved it once again in a recent interview with Submission Radio. Covington is popping up for a lot of conversations lately. This is likely because the fighter is all set to go up against the reigning welterweight champion in the near future.

While his target is set, Covington makes sure he doesn’t miss out on an opportunity to fire rounds at other fighters. His division, not his division, never really mattered. The fighter has long beefed with the likes of Khabib Nurmagomedov, and now he has his eyes set on someone else. So whom did Covington target this time?

Colby Covington attempts to humiliate Khamzat Chimaev

In his latest interview, ‘Chaos’ takes some time to answer some questions. The fighter currently stands at number 2 in the welterweight division. And this time he took shots at the number 4 ranked fighter in the division, who is none other than ‘Borz‘. Chimaev has famously been considering moving to the middleweight division, and Covington had a lot to say about it.

“I’ve accepted every single fight, you know,” said Covington. “I ran Khamzat away to middleweight, the guy’s an unprofessional dork; he’ll never fu*king make 70, and he’ll never be in that position where this multi-billion dollar stock publicly traded company would ever put him in that position again, so you know he’s done at 170, so everybody needs to stop talking about him being at 170.”

While Covington’s rant could be looked at as a form of regular ‘Chaos’ slandering, there is an unfortunate sense of truth to it. Chimaev has previously had issues keeping in his weight class. The fighter was famously supposed to fight Nate Diaz when he failed to make weight. This led to a lot of issues with the fight card.

Finally, the fighter ended up fighting Kevin Holland in the catchweight category instead. The failed weigh-ins created a lot of controversy in the MMA community. and Chimaev faced backlash from the fans. After all, why would anyone be happy if the promised fight actually never went down?

What’s next for Covington and Chimaev?

Colby Covington is all set and ready to take on the champion, Leon Edwards. No one has managed to defeat ‘Rocky’ in eight years. Covington is wildly confident that he will win the belt and take it home on December 16th of this year.
