The fight week for one of the greatest UFC cards of this year is almost upon us, as the MMA world steps in to fight week for UFC 273. With two massive title fights and the highly anticipated clash between rising superstar Khamzat Chimaev and Gilbert Burns, fans simply cannot ask for more.
The Swedish star hasn’t dropped a fight in the promotion, and this weekend he will face his toughest challenge yet, but it looks like ‘The Wolf’ is looking past his nemesis.

Recently, Chimaev was quizzed about former title challenger Colby Covington and what he thought about him. The UFC upstart stated that Covington will probably not take the fight and find reasons to stay safe from him.

He said,” I don’t think so, that guy wanna fight with me, I think he gonna go to the cop(laughs), He is gonna go to the cops, call the cops you know? Dana White would be in jail for making that fight. And like I always said, he talk too much in the media, and then when you see him face to face, and he go to the cops you know? He is not a gangster, If I am honest, UFC has to kick him out. He’s a b**h”

Is Khamzat Chimaev setting himself up for failure?
The 27-year-old mixed martial artist has only had four fights in the promotion and is already facing a top 5 name. Not many fighters have seen such a massive step up in competition and continued to dominate. The Swedish fighter is going to trade blows against former title challenger Gilbert Burns, who is riding off the massive win he had against the 40-year-old Stephen ‘Wonder Boy’ Thompson.

Burns was among the few UFC fighters who dared to call out ‘The Wolf’ and it looks like it will finally take place this weekend. Chimaev has made bold claims every time he appeared in front of the media, and a loss to burn will bring it all to a standstill.

Not only does he have to win, but he has to also put on a dominating performance in order to keep his hype intact. Sometimes, fighters crumble under immense pressure and it could easily backfire on any fighter.
