Khamzat Chimaev has represented Sweden as an athlete since he was 18 years old. However, he recently changed his nationality and became a citizen of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) ahead of his fight in Abu Dhabi at UFC 294. Meanwhile, he received a message from the son of the head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov.
The undefeated UFC fighter was born in Chechnya and stayed there until he was 18 years old. Since becoming a world-famous athlete, he’s built a strong relationship with Ramzan Kadyrov. The Chechen dictator has also been spotted training with ‘Borz’. Moreover, as he gears up for his upcoming fight, Kadyrov’s son, Ali Kadyrov, shared a message with Khamzat Chimaev.

Ramzan Kadyrov’s son sends a message to Khamzat Chimaev
The Head of the Chechen Republic is rumored to be currently suffering from a severe illness. Khamzat Chimaev shared a picture to support the dictator to pray for his good health. Apparently, Ali Kadyrov appreciated this gesture from the undefeated UFC fighter and shared a one-word response for him ahead of his fight against Paulo Costa.

Ali Kadyrov, in an Instagram story, shared the picture that Chimaev recently posted with his father and wrote: “Champ.” He has extended his support to ‘Borz’ as he returns to the Octagon at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi. Moreover, the Chechen Head’s son has always supported Khamzat Chimaev since both of them are training partners.
‘Borz’ and Ali Kadyrov are training partners
The newly Emirati fighter is well acquainted with Ali Kadyrov. The Chechen Head’s son is also an MMA fighter who has one fight under his belt. As such, he has spent a lot of time training with Khamzat Chimaev. Just over a few months ago, ‘Borz’ even took Ali under his wing and trained with him at Tiger Muay Thai in Thailand. Moreover, he even brought some other fighters who were affiliated with Ramzan Kadyrov as well.

The reason behind Khamzat Chimaev’s decision to train with Ali Kadyrov could be his relationship with his father. However, the Chechen head’s son also registered a win in his first and only MMA fight so far in fantastic fashion. He grabbed a TKO victory at the ACA 150 event with a ground-and-pound finish. Moreover, the fight ended in the very first round.

Khamzat Chimaev may take all the support he gets ahead of his middleweight fight against Paulo Costa. He intends to keep going strong and stay undefeated, which could get him into title contention. It remains to be seen how things will unfold on October 21st when Chimaev represents the UAE for the first time in his career.
