Colby Covington and Ian Garry seem to be on a collision course. Last year, when information about Garry’s wife’s controversial book came to light, Covington spared no effort in badmouthing the Irishman and his family. ‘The Future’ remained silent at the time, but it seems like Garry has finally made up his mind to address Covington’s unflattering comments.

Ian Garry has challenged Colby Covington to a WWE-style retirement match. Garry stated that in their fight, he would retire the former interim welterweight champion for good and “make MMA great again.” This challenge from Garry was amusing to Khamzat Chimaev. Let’s see what the ‘Wolf’ had to say.

Ian Garry is still on his und͏efeated st͏re͏ak after his latest victory against Geoff Neal at UFC 298. With his confidence soaring high,͏ Garry took to his social media handle to issue a challenge to Colby Covington, who is riding on a losing streak, the last of which came against Leon Edwards.

“I challenge you to an ‘I Quit’ match where one of us has to say ‘I Quit,’ and whoever utters those words must retire, gloves off. Sayonara, my friend. I’m going to be the final chapter of your legacy of failure. I’m going to rid the UFC of Colby Covington for good. I’m going to make MMA great again,” said Garry.

Khamzat Chimaev could not hold back his laughter ͏after witnessing such an ironic callout and demand from Garry. “Borz’ took to his Instagram handle to add a comment under the Instagram post highlighting Garry’s challenge. He wrote, “This gay can’t make his sh*t great, haw his gonna make mma great ?”

What was Chimaev referring to? Was it a jibe at Garry’s controversial standing among the fans, or a more personal comment on the speculations going on about the nature of his relationship with Mrs. Garry? Either way, Garry’s focus remains on Covington.

Garry has called out Covington ͏twice now – once after his win at UFC 298 and once via the above clip. While Garry kept his video on point with his intent to retire Covington, ‘Chaos’ was completely unfiltered in his opinion against Garry and had some bizarre unflattering conditions for their fight.

Colby Covington’s conditions to face Garry

‘Chaos’ recently took to his X account to add a video where he said “Ian Garry, you translucent cu*k, you wanted my attention, now you got it, Everybody knows why you want to fight me, Ian. I’m the biggest star in the division. It’s big city, bright lights, and the most attention and eyes you’re ever gonna have on you when I fight. Everyone knows what’s in it for you, Ian, but what’s in it for me? Why do I have to go down in the rankings and fight some Casper-The-Ghost looking Irish kid who has a gold-digging wife? Let’s come to a compromise. If you can meet these three stipulations, we have a fight.”

He further added “you and that gold-digging wh*re got to turn your Instagram comments back on.”, Covington further stated that Layla Machado should beg him for that fight to happen and the last stipulation was that she should feature in an advertisement for ‘MyBookie’  with him. The bad blood between them seems to be growing to a boiling point.

A fight between the pair would be a fresh match for the division and a win for either could mean possible title contention. What do you think? Will Garry agree to these conditions? State your thoughts in the comments below.
