Khamzat Chimaev Gives a Conor McGregor Like Nickname to Kamaru Usman After the Former Champ Gave Out a Bold Prediction in Their Twitter Back and Fro

At the moment, both Khamzat Chimaev and Kamaru Usman are desperate to have an opponent. After losing two title shots against Leon Edwards, ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ can’t wait to have more fights to compensate for the losses with some glorious victories. On the other hand, Chimaev is an undefeated fighter who lost out on a great bout due to missing weight. Chimaev was scheduled to fight Nate Diaz at UFC 279; however, the bout was cancelled after Chimaev missed weight by 7.5 pounds. After the incident, he was ruled as a careless fighter who destroyed the business of the promotion. Both Chimaev and Usman are now planning to move up in search of new challenges. They have called out each other in thirst for more victories.

The two fighters are already giving all the buildup for their bout through Twitter. The verbal war between the two has reached a point where Usman has made a bold prediction. The African fighter predicted that he was going to win the bout within the fourth round by stoppage. Chimaev is not someone who would choose silence as a response. He pulled the leg of ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ by giving him a nickname similar to that of UFC superstar Conor McGregor.

 To reach a title shot again, it is important for Kamaru Usman to earn more victories through interesting fights. Even now, Usman is considered one of the best welterweight fighters of all time. However, back-to-back losses against ‘Rocky’ have tarnished his reputation. After ‘Borz’ called out Usman, he took to Twitter and tweeted, “I stop him in 4. Watch the tapes” 

In the back and fro battle, Chimaev responded to Usman by calling him with a nickname similar to that of Conor McGregor. He wrote, “Mysticmusman”. The fans can hope that Chimaev and Usman might be the next interesting matchup. However, nothing has been made official until now.

It was not just ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’

It is not just Usman who has been linked up with Chimaev until now. After messing up big time at UFC 279, the Swede decided to move up to middleweight. However, before that, many speculated that ‘Borz’ might lock horns against Colby Covington. The two fighters were continuously engaged in a verbal war.

However, the bout between the two never came to fruition. Later, rumors spread that the undefeated fighter may face Paulo Costa next in the middleweight division.
