Borz‘ has spoken and as usual, it’s as bold as they come. Khamzat Chimaev is now 13-0 in his career and it doesn’t look like he’s about to shy away from challenges or callouts. Recently, Jiri Prochazka called the fighter out and now he has responded with sharp fangs sticking out.

Everyone remembers the menacing face Khamzat Chimaev gave us before he took on Kamaru Usman at UFC 294. He’s still willing to go at it even if it means changing divisions again (back then, the two fought at middleweight). Now, the former light heavyweight champion is ready and waiting for him. Will Chimaev step up?

Khamzat Chimaev trolls Prochazka in response

As usual, Chimaev and his smack-talk didn’t hold anything back. He didn’t have much to say though. A simple little reminder of the tough times Prochazka recently faced felt enough for the Chechen. He took to his socials to remind Prochazka that he was no longer a champion.

“You’ve already lost, you need a belt.” He wrote after Prochazka asked to “welcome” Chimaev “to LHW division”. Clearly, the Chechen is already making waves after changing his weight class once. However, is he really up to the challenge?

Until recently, he was beefing with none other than Sean Strickland. In fact, he even showed full confidence that he would easily defeat the middleweight champ. Chimaev has brilliant wrestling skills, and he uses them even more brilliantly.

Does this mean he can outlast the striker that is Strickland? Earlier, Dricus Du Plessis had shown great concern that Chimaev would not last in a match against Strickland. Now, Du Plessis is facing him for the title. Here’s what he said in a conversation about Chimaev.

Dricus Du Plessis about Chimaev

Du Plessis is a seasoned fighter himself. He’s sustained a great reputation and ranking in the middleweight division, and it’s no easy feat. With experience against fighters like Robert Whittaker, Du Plessis knows the shark tank that is the 185 lbs division. So it wasn’t surprising when he said this about Chimaev.

“. . . if you want to give Khamzat the title shot go right ahead. Because the Khamzat that fought (at UFC 294) loses to Sean Strickland every day of the week,” he had said when rumors about Chimaev getting a title shot were afloat. Now the rumors have died out but Du Plessis still stands strong. Do you think the two would get a chance to clash soon? Do you want to watch that fight? Let us know in the comments.
