

UFC welterweight star Khamzat Chimaev claimed he doesn’t want to spend his fortune on luxuries like his motivation, the former two-weight champion, Conor McGregor.

‘Borz’ has made it big in the promotion with his fearless personality and dominant octagon skills. He is building an empire in the sports brick by brick. Interestingly, the Russian-born Swedish fighter has many times admitted that ‘The Notorious’, making millions in the UFC inspired him to pursue MMA as a career.
However, he doesn’t want to follow in McGregor’s footsteps when it comes to spending his money.

The former two-division champion of UFC Conor McGregor has made a fortune through the sport. According to Celebrity Net Worth, ‘The Notorious has a net worth of over $200 million. He lives a flamboyant lifestyle surrounded by luxurious mansions, expensive cars, watches, and more.
Earlier, McGregor also purchased an insanely expensive Lamborghini yacht worth a whopping $3.6 million. However, Chimaev doesn’t want to go down this road. Instead, ‘Borz’ wants to spend his money doing charity work like the boxing legend, Muhammad Ali.

In a podcast, welterweight fighter Chimaev said, “Sure! It’s not just about kicking someone’s a**, it’s business. And when I talk about making money, I am not doing it for myself. I am not gonna be buying yachts like Conor (McGregor).”

“Don’t get me wrong! If he invites me to a yacht, I will go. But I am not gonna waste money on buying one. If I make a fortune, I will be doing charity work and use it for good. Just like Muhammad Ali did,” Chimaev concluded.

Khamzat Chimaev once went to Ireland to beat Conor McGregor
The UFC welterweight UFC fighter, Chimaev, was close to beating up the former lightweight champion, McGregor in 2018, for the latter’s comments on the Russian people.

In 2018, McGregor was scheduled for a lightweight title fight with the Russian fighter, Khabib Nurmagomedov. The fight generated a lot of hype and the Irishman used heavy trash talk in the lead-up to the bout.

However, a few of his comments related to Russian people didn’t sit well with Chimaev. Hence, he took a flight to Ireland to fight the UFC superstar. In an old interview, Chimaev said, “My mind was blowing up at the moment, but I’m living here very close to him. I was thinking that I would catch him in the streets or at the gym and beat him up. This is what he deserved. I landed in Ireland and waited in an airport.”
However, he was stopped by the police at the airport and later sent back to Sweden. Also, the Irishman lost the fight via submission in the fourth round.
