

UFC welterweight star Khamzat Chimaev has received a zero kilometer car from Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov. Kadyrov is a dictator of the Caucasus region who declared himself independent from the Republic of Russia.
Kadyrov also has a close alliance with UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. The pair met back in 2018. Interestingly, Nurmagomedov received a car similar to Chimaev’s.

Egyptian businessman Ali Abdelaziz manages both Chimaev and Nurmagomedov. He also holds friendly relationships with Kadyrov. So, the group has grown a bonding. Kadyrov is an MMA enthusiast too, and uses the sport to spread his idealism in Russia.
A video has surfaced on YouTube recently, of Chimev sitting next to Kadyrov. The pair can be seen dancing and having fun later together. Interestingly, Kadyrov has before been captured with combat stars like Frank Mir, Fabricio Werdum, Badr Hari, Mike Tyson, and more.
Khamzat Chimaev had his fight canceled yet again
Chimaev was set to headline the January 20 UFC Fight Night card against Leon Edwards. But unfortunately enough, ‘Borz’ tested positive for COVID. So, his proposed bout has been canceled yet again.
The duo is previously scheduled for December 19 showdown. But the Brit Edwards returned a positive coronavirus test that time. The UFC has decided to push the fight to a later date in 2021.

Chimaev will look to continue his meteoric rise in the UFC. A win over a top contender like Edwards will put him in title contention right away, even though he has only fought once in the welterweight division till now.
But the quality and talent of the Russian fighter are visible in his short stint in the UFC. He has been one of the most promising breakout stars of 2020.

But the way he knocked out a seasoned veteran like Gerald Meerschaert in only 17 seconds, has turned his doubters into fans. Although, Edwards is a top of the crop opponent. it will be the toughest test of Chimaev’s career to date without any doubt.
