UFC 319 is the moment Khamzat Chimaev was waiting for. After smashing everybody while maintaining his squeaky clean undefeated record, ‘Borz’ finally has his shot at UFC gold, as he goes head-to-head against a formidable champion, Dricus du Plessis. However, rumors have started swirling about ‘Borz’ finally hanging up his gloves after winning the strap, since he’s already made his millions.

It was Caio Borralho who first mentioned hearing about Khamzat Chimaev possibly stepping out of the sport after his title fight at UFC 319. Why? Well, we all know about Chimaev’s medical issues, since that’s one of the reasons that Borralho pointed out. Also, ‘Borz’ has made his money at the top of the UFC, since he’s one of the promotion’s biggest stars. Moreover, the whole internet community had a meltdown recently when Chimaev showed off his new $500,000 Rolls-Royce Series 2 on social media.

The retirement talks even reached the ears of Chael Sonnen, and the UFC legend also revealed hearing the retirement murmurs. However, the rumours are nothing but rumors. His coach, Alan Finfou, recently revealed that Khamzat Chimaev is not going to step away from the sport so soon. He’s only in his early 30s, and when they heard this rumor, they found it amusing. And guess what? The talk about Chimaev’s retirement may have been something that his former manager, Ali Abdelaziz, spoke about in public.

“No, he will [not retire]. We were talking about this when this came up. Caio talked about this because it was something that his former manager talked about a lot. But Chimaev himself doesn’t think that way,” Khamzat Chimaev’s coach told Marcelo Alonso. “We were talking about it, and he even laughed about it. He said, ‘There is still something I want to achieve, and I don’t think he will stop. Not yet.’ He is still young.”

Well, you finally have the answers. Khamzat Chimaev is not going anywhere anytime soon. Just like his coach said, he’s got something more to achieve. That will certainly start with his title fight at UFC 319, as a Hall of Famer claimed that he may be cooking something big in training.

Daniel Cormier believes Khamzat Chimaev is working on something special in training.

Arman Tsarukyan recently revealed that he was involved with Khamzat Chimaev’s training ahead of the latter’s fight against Dricus du Plessis. The undefeated star has also been training at The Training Lab with coach Sam Calavitta, who also worked as the conditioning coach for former UFC champion TJ Dillashaw. According to Daniel Cormier, Chimaev taking assistance from the aforementioned people could mean that he’s got “something big” in store for the fans at UFC 319.

“For people that don’t know, coach Cal and The Treining Lab, that’s where you go to peak… It’s not just something you do because it’s 3:00 and the coach said, ‘Practice at three.’ There are very specific things going on,” Daniel Cormier said on the Good Guy/Bad Guy show. “Those two aren’t just flipping tires and climbing ropes together. They’re sparring, they’re wrestling, they’re going with each other. Tsarukyan has something big; he knows it. It’s in his back pocket, and eventually it will be revealed to all of us.”
