Khamzat Chimaev’s unanimous decision victory over number two ranked welterweight fighter, Gilbert Burns, in UFC 273 has created gigantic waves in the UFC. UFC 273 witnessed a three-round thrilling encounter between the ‘Borz’ and ‘ Durinho’.

The UFC President, Dana White, spoke to reporters after UFC 273. He rated Chimaev very highly.

White said, “He’s gone that fast I mean they kept the kid I mean in fight island remember that day he said I want to fight again next week. I said okay let’s do it and ever since then man he’s been like a rocket ship.”

“I think he’s got three and a half million followers on Instagram and saw what happened tonight. Have you ever seen somebody with four fights other than Conor and Ronda?” added White.

The ‘Borz’,  with just a couple of fights in the UFC, has proved his worth in UFC 273. Dana White praises his capability and compares Chimaev’s rise with UFC’s superstars, Conor McGregor and Ronda Rousey.

Chimaev has got a whole new fan base with half a million followers on Instagram. The hype is real for him.

Khamzat Chimaev’s era in UFC

Chimaev upgraded his undefeated record  (11-0-0) by defeating Burns at UFC 273 via a unanimous decision.

For ‘Borz’, UFC 273 was a tough fight. He didn’t dominate Burns like in his prior fights. “Durinho” was severely injured in the first round, but returned in the second round with his trademark heavy punches, engaging both of them in an intense battle.

The third round saw fighters causing equal damages, eventually resulting in a unanimous decision victory for Chimaev.

Chimaev’s next opponent is anticipated to be former interim welterweight champion, Colby Covington. The ‘Chaos’ is at the helm in the welterweight division.
