The chances of Conor McGregor coming back to fight Michael Chandler are becoming slimmer by the day. Currently, fans can see the two of them lock horns in TUF 31 where they are in opposing coaching roles. In the recent episode of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’, ‘Iron’ shed some light on their probable fight and had a message for the former double champion. Some of the fans, however, did not share his views.

The fans are eager to see Conor McGregor back inside the Octagon. Unfortunately for them, the Irishman reportedly not enlisting in USADA’s testing pool, has made the possibility of him fighting in 2023 very less. People have started speculating whether his fight against Chandler will ever come to fruition. Meanwhile, in the seventh episode of TUF 31, Chandler analyzed his prospective fight against McGregor.

Michael Chandler’s chilling warning to Conor McGregor

Conor McGregor has been away for two years now. Since then, the Irishman has been seen on several social media posts packing a considerable amount of muscle. Nevertheless, Michael Chandler believes that will be the trickiest part of McGregor’s preparation. He said, “It’ll be very interesting when the matchup does happen. How his training is going, how he’s going to adapt to being heavier.”

Considering McGregor’s mostly floated around the featherweight and lightweight category for the better part of his career. It might be a test for him compared to the size Chandler’s been fighting at. He said, “I would anticipate him having a lot more catching up to do on adapting to the new size that he’s put on compared to what I’ve been doing my entire career.”

Chandler is game to fight in any weight class McGregor desires because he doesn’t want to cut weight. He also took a dig at the McGregor brand saying, “Conor’s built a brand based around money and material things. And ultimately I am going to be on top of him raining down punches and he’s gonna wish he could look down and see his Rolex, but there ain’t gonna be anytime left.”

The fans were not very impressed with the former Bellator champion’s prediction of what will happen in his fight with Conor McGregor. Some of them are amused that Chandler believes the fight will take place after the USADA fiasco. Following are some of the reactions from fans on Instagram.

It remains to be seen how things transpire in the days to come. There is no word from Dana White regarding what comes next. However, he is hopeful that the fight will take place in 2023.
