Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad have been going back-and-forth on Twitter. Muhammad claimed that Edwards didn’t impress much with his win over Nate Diaz at UFC 263. He also believes if Colby Covington indeed fights for the belt next, ‘Rocky’ should rematch him instead of sitting out for yet another extended period.

Edwards and Muhammad headlined a UFC Fight Night card in March. However, the fight ended in a no-contest because of an accidental eye-poke on Muhammad from ‘Rocky’. Hence, ‘Remember the Name’ believes the Brit should rematch him instead of going after other names.

Recently, Edwards ridiculed Muhammad’s claims and called him a clown. “Clown,” wrote Edwards. “Aren’t you the guy that got 3 piece and soda’d ?” replied Muhammad, referring to Edwards’s infamous altercation with Jorge Masvidal at a UFC Fight Night event in London back in 2019.

In your own country?” Muhammad added further. “With your brother right next to you?” he wrote about the incident.

Edwards certainly took note of those claims from his former opponent and responded, “Where was this energy in person I just sin you fight week n you couldn’t even look at me you walk past with you head down wtf is happening here.

Is Leon Edwards vs Belal Muhammad 2 the fight to make next?

Edwards has been campaigning for a title shot since his UFC 263 win. However, he might have to wait for his shot at the gold for now. So, it might be a while before he gets booked against the champion. Also, given that he has just fought a 5-rounder, ‘Rocky’ might take some time off and recover from his exertions.

Muhammad fought on the same card as well. So, if Edwards is keen to fight instead of sitting out and waiting for his title shot, then re-booking the duo certainly makes sense. As ‘Remember the Name’ has wanted that fight since the first contest, it won’t be a surprise if he gets his wish granted.
