In a recent interview, the reigning UFC women’s bantamweight champion, Julianna Pena, directed a famous Marvin Hagler quote towards her arch enemy in the sport, Amanda Nunes.
Last year, Julianna Pena shocked the world after her win over Amanda Nunes at UFC 269. Now, the two are coaches going against each other in the recent season of The Ultimate Fighter. As things were getting heated at The Ultimate Fighter, Pena appeared in a recent interview with the renowned MMA reporter, The Schmo.

On being asked about her thoughts on how Dana White‘s interaction has evolved with Amanda Nunes, Julianna quoted the ‘silk pajamas’ line. Pena said, “I mean, I think what he said was something that he said about many of the champions. Once they’re waking up in silk pajamas, it’s hard to get up and do the road work and be motivated.”

She added, “One thing that he always told me is if the fight doesn’t motivate you, let the money motivate you.” And the fight itself motivates me and the money motivates me as well. But more than anything it’s about legacy at this point and that’s you know all the motivation I need.
Julianna Pena on her expectation from UFC 277
Julianna Pena is currently preparing for her return to the octagon to defend her belt against Amanda Nunes at UFC 277. The event will go down on July 30, 2022, at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. In her interview with The Schmo, Pena gave her expectation for her upcoming bout against Nunes.

She said, “this is going to be the biggest, toughest, strongest, fastest, scariest Amanda Nunes that we’ve ever seen. And I am absolutely ready for anything and everything.”
