Brian Kelleher just picked up his seventh victory inside the UFC octagon via a unanimous decision against Domingo Pilarte. Soon after celebrating his hard-earned victory inside the octagon, the 35-year-old called out one of the most popular fighters in the division, Sean O’ Malley.

Both Brian Kelleher and Sean O Malley have been going at it on social media for quite some time now. In fact, Kelleher was one of the few to volunteer to step up for a fight against O’ Malley at UFC 264, however, that didn’t pan out.

Nevertheless, now that Kelleher is back on the winning track, the New York native believes a fight with ‘Suga’ Sean O’ Malley should be next.

UFC Fans Go Crazy on Twitter as Fight Night Delivers Back-to-Back Knockouts

“Yeah, you know it’s one of those fights a lot of people are chasing this fight in the division, but I feel like I’m the guy. You know last time his opponent fell out, I was one of the guys that was willing to step up, but at 145 because I thought he was down for that. But then afterwards he wasn’t and wanted to stay at bantamweight, which I don’t blame him. But now he’s saying I don’t want to fight ranked guys. I get paid the same to fight anyone else. So I feel like that puts me right in that place. I’m that guy you know, like New York, I know he doesn’t want to pay taxes, but let’s go, buddy, let’s go, New York.”

Although Sean O’Malley may be looking for a fight against fighters higher up in the rankings, one can imagine this matchup being a tough one for Sean O’Malley in case Kelleher closes the distance early on.

What’s next for Brian Kelleher?

Although Kelleher has had a fair share of difficulties in the division ever since he made his debut back in 2017, ‘Boom’ has constantly shown improvements from one fight to the next.

Now, Kelleher will look to make it into the top fifteen of the division and step up in competition. Perhaps this time, the New York native will be ready to face whichever opponent the UFC sends his way.

What do you think? Who does Brian Kelleher fight next? Will he get Sean O’Malley? Let us know in the comments.
