After several verbal shots by the former bantamweight champion Miesha Tate, Aspen Ladd has responded and called her out for a war inside the UFC cage.

Earlier, ‘Cupcake’ made remarks on Ladd after she failed to make weight for her fight at UFC Vegas 30. Notably, the former champion also criticized the female featherweight fighter for having a relationship with her coach.

However, Ladd had enough and doesn’t want to indulge in any of the trash-talking. Instead, she wants to settle things with Tate inside the UFC octagon as she will soon return to bantamweight.

Aspen Ladd told MMA Junkie, “My next fight will definitely be at bantamweight. I overthought everything and underperformed. That’s the best way that I can describe it. I’m glad that I got back in there and fought, but I did not do anything that I needed to do.”

“It was really just me not pulling the trigger, and I don’t know if it was the two years off or what, but at this point, I just want to get back in and really get back to myself as far as a fighter goes. I think she’s definitely stirred the pot quite a bit.”

“We all have life experiences, right? But without knowing what’s happened to another person, you can’t just apply, like, your triggers and what’s wrong with you to them. She has a tendency to see the world through what’s happened to her in the past. I don’t want to talk sh-t, but I definitely want that fight. You said some things; let’s go handle this like adults here.”

Is Aspen Ladd a viable opponent for Miesha Tate

‘Cupcake’ is one of the most prominent names in the promotion. The 19-8 professional fighting record holder returned to UFC after a four-year-long hiatus. She secured a knockout win against Marion Reneau in July and cemented her position in the top-10 of the women’s bantamweight division.

Unfortunately, Tate fell short in her second UFC fight against the Brazilian Ketlen Vieira. She is currently 1-1 in UFC after her recent loss. Meanwhile, Aspen Ladd remained undefeated in three straight fights after her debut until she suffered her first loss against Germaine de Randamie.
