UFC superstar Conor McGregor has already captivated fans with his fighting skills, but yesterday at the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship’s first-ever event in Spain, the BKFC Marbella, he stepped into the role of a promoter and showcased a hidden side of himself. This aspect became evident when McGregor actively sought equal footing with UFC head honcho Dana White during the event, as demonstrated on various occasions, including stopping brawls between fighters during the face-off.

He didn’t stop there, Conor McGregor further demonstrated his deep appreciation for the fighters after the event. This sentiment was recently highlighted by Oscar Willis, the face of  ‘Mystic Mac’s’ own MMA media website, ‘The Mac Life’, in a recent interview.

Oscar Willis praises Conor McGregor’s gesture

Yesterday marked a milestone event in combat sports history when two reputed media personalities, Oscar Willis and Ben Davis went toe-to-toe in a bare-knuckle bout inside the bullfighting ring at BKFC Spain. The lightweight fight ended in a knockout by Willis, but what intrigued fans even more was how Conor McGregor reacted after witnessing his employees’ victory.

This sentiment was recently expressed by Submission Radio’s host, who asked Oscar Willis, “What did Conor McGregor tell you after the fight?” Willis revealed, “He jumped in and made a massive point to not just say it to me, but to grab Ben as well, which I thought was really cool. He said, ‘You guys are both warriors and can both speak on this sport fairly now, and you both deserve all the credit.”

Willis further highlighted that McGregor respected Ben Davis, even though he was his employee’s opponent, stating, “I think Conor appreciated Ben. I think Conor sensed it was a bit like the Oscar show, maybe, and Ben wasn’t getting a good shout. I think Conor really appreciated him for having the pull to do this as well.”

However, don’t be fooled by the Irishman’s soft demeanor, he is still ‘Notorious’ at heart, which came to the surface before the BKFC event when McGregor issued warnings against its critics and BKFC haters.

‘Mystic Mac’ fired back at his haters at the BKFC event

Conor McGregor has already proven that he can adapt to any situation and embrace various roles, but he can’t change who he truly is deep down, a notorious ‘trash talker’ who doesn’t spare anyone who wants to take a hit at him or the things he associates with. Recently, a growing beef between the Irishman and Sean O’Malley arose when O’Malley targeted Ryan Garcia, a close friend of McGregor’s, with a verbal jab, which resulted in Mystic Mac’s wrath.

In the BKFC pre-fight interview, McGregor aimed at the haters of his promotion while speaking to JNMediaUK at the BKFC DAZN event. ‘Mystic Mac’ echoed, “No one messes with bare-knuckle champions, not to mess with me. You hear that? Me neither! No one speaks ill of a bare-knuckle world champion because you can’t, baby. That’s how it is. These are the baddest men and women on planet Earth, and I’m proud and honored to be here representing them.”

What are your thoughts on Conor McGregor’s new role as a promoter? Do you think this new endeavor will affect his willingness to return to the UFC octagon, especially as he currently has his sights set on Dan Hooker for February? Drop your opinion below.
