Chan Sung Jung is all ready to fight Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 273 soon. With the fight coming closer, there sure is a lot of pressure on the Korean fighter. After all, Volkanovski is such a dominant fighter. The featherweight champion has not lost a fight in years.

Hence, it becomes very important for ‘The Korean Zombie’ to put his best foot forward in the upcoming title fight. However, something unfortunate happened to the fighter during a training session.

On his Instagram stories, he uploaded a video where his followers could see him in quite a lot of pain. The video was accompanied by something written in the Korean language which, when put through Google translation, loosely translates to ‘luckily alive’.

Therefore, it looks like the fighter was quite heavily injured. However, what exactly happened is not clear. With UFC 273 being so close, one can only hope that the incident won’t be grave enough for him to pull off from the fight.

Chan Sung Jung is currently coming off a win against Dan Ige. The 17-6-0 record holder has been fighting since 2007. Back in 2013, he fought Jose Aldo for the title but, sadly, lost. Post that, he was away for a few years and returned to the octagon in 2017. So, since his return, UFC 273 will be the first time he will fight for the title.
