Colby Covington is known for his brash personality and controversial statements. Covington, a former interim welterweight champion, was out of the spotlight for some time after his fight against Jorge Masvidal. Fans did not get to hear much from him for the last year.

However, Covington made a comeback as a backup fighter for the UFC 286 event. His comeback to the UFC limelight was in proper ‘Chaos’ fashion. He once again made headlines with his recent comments about rising star Khamzat Chimaev.

Colby Covington targets Khamzat Chimaev

During the post-fight press conference, Covington didn’t hold back when it came to criticizing Chimaev. The American called him a joke and claimed that he is not good at fighting. He also called Chimaev “unprofessional”.

“He’s a f*cking joke. The guy f*cking sucks at fighting. He’s unprofessional and I don’t want to ever hear that guy’s name again. You guys hype him up to be this great giant”, Covington said.

He also called out Chimaev for missing weight in his fight against Nate Diaz. According to Covington, Chimaev’s fight with Diaz was a very easy one, and it was done to set up a fight between him and Covington.
