MMA is indeed one of the most versatile sports in the world. The cage provides a platform for fighters hailing from different backgrounds with different fighting styles. However, sometimes things take a steep turn, and some fighters get stuck in a losing streak. Such was the case with the UFC heavyweight contender, Antonio Silva. Although the fighter has faced several consecutive losses, his bravery and strength pull him closer to the arena. It was declared that the fighter would re-enter and fight an ex-Bellator contender.

Although the fighters hail from MMA, the upcoming fight is proposed to be a grappling bout. While the world of combat sports was saddened by Silva’s losses, the fight being a grappling bout might make them take a sigh of relief.

‘Bigfoot’ Silva’s last victory was against Soa Palelei, in 2015. Although he fought seven fights, the Brazilian has not won a single bout ever since Palelei. Almost all of his matches sadly ended with a stoppage. However, the upcoming fight being a grappling match might end up with a victory for the Brazilian contender.

While a couple of back-to-back wins got him a chance at the heavyweight title, he couldn’t touch the victory line. Following a break from MMA, after he tested positive for PEDs, he came back and conquered the cage over Palelei.

However, that was the last time he saw the limelight shining on him as the victor. Later, the fighter decided to retire from mixed martial arts. Without a doubt, he has not backed off from combat sports. He competed in boxing, bare-knuckle boxing, and kickboxing. But all was in vain.
