Former heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic has been quite vocal in his support for fellow Cleveland native Jake Paul, who is about to face Tyron Woodley in a boxing match this weekend.

In fact, Stipe Miocic, who is a Golden Gloves recipient, recently took out the time to spar with Jake Paul. He gave the up-and-comer a few tips and tricks ahead of the eight-round bout.

Furthermore, it now seems like Stipe Miocic will also be present during the weigh-ins on Saturday and will be responsible for keeping both the fighters separated during the face-off.

“Yeah, I’m pretty excited to do that. They asked me to do it I’m like, Oh yeah, it’d be fun to do and so its gonna.. Keep my head on the swivel make sure no one does anything frisky”

Jake Paul has garnered the support of many MMA fighters ever since he began voicing his concern regarding fighters being underpaid by the UFC. It is no secret that Stipe Miocic has had his fair share of run-ins with the UFC brass. The 39-year-old didn’t even let Dana White wrap the belt around his waist when he became the champion back in 2016.

Miocic felt slighted by the UFC after the promotion tried to book a heavyweight matchup between Daniel Cormier and Brock Lesnar instead of giving him the rematch. The two parties are in a similar situation with Miocic, having no clue when he might rematch Francis Ngannou for a third time after losing to him at UFC 260.

Regardless, it seems like the former heavyweight champion is making good use of his time, staying in the limelight and promoting himself before he can get back in the cage for another showdown.

When will Stipe Miocic fight next?

Ever since his loss to Francis Ngannou at UFC 260 back in March, Stipe Miocic took some time off to recover. In the meanwhile, the heavyweight division is now in a fix, with an active champion in Ngannou and interim champion in Ciryl Gane.

Although a unification fight between the two belt holders will make more sense, Miocic believes he will get the rematch with Ngannou. As of now, Miocic awaits the birth of his second child, after which he is scheduled to meet Dana White for a meeting in September.
