Most of the world was astonished by the unforeseen transfer of one of the greatest footballers of all time, Cristiano Ronaldo, to Manchester United FC. However, the absolutely stunning development didn’t surprise one star who claims that he knew about he had heard about the same from CR7 himself. 

The legendary Khabib Nurmagomedov, who is an ardent soccer fan, and friends with Ronaldo, issued a statement at Moscow’s New Knowledge Marathon, saying, “A month ago, he told me that he was moving to Manchester United. I expected this deal to take place. I think that Manchester United is more suitable for him than Juventus. For me, the move was not a surprise.” (h/t RT Sport)

Nurmagomedov’s comments may help sway Manchester United supporters who were initially led to believe that their man would head over to cross-town rivals Manchester City.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo recently became the top goal-scorer in international football history. He achieved the feat just days after he made the move ‘The Eagle’ claimed to have known about. Now, CR7 will wear the iconic number seven shirt, and the fans couldn’t be happier.

In his first spell from 2003 to 2009, Ronaldo played 292 games for Manchester United, scoring 118 goals and winning nine trophies, including three Premier League crowns and the UEFA Champions League. Hence, fans will expect some amount of success to come to the club with Ronaldo’s return. 

Nurmagomedov believes Old Trafford is a better fit for Ronaldo than Turin.
