Dana White has shown the green light for Mark Coleman’s appearance at UFC 300! The UFC Hall of Famer and the first-ever UFC heavyweight champion was in the news recently as he suffered from the aftermath of saving his parents from a house fire that left him hospitalized. He has since recovered from the incident and is currently healthy and according to the UFC boss, will be present at the historic UFC event on April 13!

Max Holloway, one-half of the BMF title clash at the event, recently stated in an interview with MMA Junkie, “That’s a real-life BMF… It would be an honor to get him to do it”, referring to the possibility of ‘The Hammer’ being the one to put the belt around the winner’s waist. And it seems that Dana White agreed with his sentiments as he made a bold reveal at the UFC 300 press conference!

Dana White announces Mark Coleman will do the honors of handing the BMF title to the winner at UFC 300
The first ever BMF title fight in the UFC was held between Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244 in 2019. ‘Gamebred’ won the bout via a doctor stoppage TKO and was awarded the BMF belt by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. As such, for the UFC 300 card, both Max Holloway and Justin Gaethje had indicated that they would like to see Mark Coleman do the same honors for their fight.
And in an interview with MMA Junkie, Mark Coleman stated, “…just being there with some nice cageside seats with my daughter. I’m stoked. If I end up putting the belt on them or whatever else, that’s just icing on the cake.”

As such, during the UFC 300 press conference, Mike Bohn had asked Dana White, “Both Max and Justin told me they want Mark Coleman to wrap the BMF title…” but before he could finish his sentence, the UFC boss exclaimed, “Done!”

During the promotion for the landmark UFC event, Dana White also lauded Max Holloway for his impressive UFC resume and indicated that the Hawaiian may have a claim to ‘GOAT’ status in the UFC’s featherweight division!

‘Blessed’ receives his flowers from Dana White
Max Holloway is gearing up to add another accolade to his already impressive resume at UFC 300! The former featherweight champion currently holds the record for the longest winning streak in the UFC’s featherweight division at 13. He also has the most wins in the division with 20 victories to his name.
And at UFC 300, he will attempt to add the ‘BMF’ title to his collection with a win over ‘The Highlight’, Justin Gaethje. As such, speaking on an appearance on ESPN’s ‘First Take’, UFC boss Dana White stated, “Max Holloway, always a big fan favorite, probably the greatest featherweight of all time”

He also revealed that the matchmaking for this bout was done in his Las Vegas office’s ‘War Room’. He further explained, “We were sitting in here one day and thought about building this BMF title and who’s better fit for this thing than Justin Gaethje and Max Holloway?”

The fight will be contested at 155 lbs or lightweight and promises a thrilling spectacle between two men known for their action-packed fights and delivering incredible moments inside the Octagon.
