Chase Sherman had a good outing at UFC Fight Night: Dos Anjos vs Fiziev. The heavyweight fighter was involved in a back and forth against Jared Vanderaa. Sherman managed to gain a TKO victory over Vandera in round3. This victory ended a 4-fight losing streak for Sherman, who will walk home a happy man.

Going into the third round, the fight was pretty even. Sherman did well in the first round to land strikes on the face and body of Vanderaa. ‘The Vanilla Gorilla’ also targeted the lead leg of Vanderaa. It seemed pretty clear that Sherman had done enough to win Round 1.

However, the second round wasn’t the same for Sherman. Vanderaa in the second round did better in the striking department. The fighter landed some beautiful strikes on Sherman. These strikes included some jabs, ferocious right hands, and even leg kicks.

The turning point of the fight was the third round. While initially the heavyweights traded in the center of the octagon, it seemed as if Vanderaa was getting the better. However, things changed when Sherman landed a right hand on Vanderaa, which had him hurt against the fence. From there, Sherman landed an onslaught until the referee did not stop the fight.

While Sherman won the fight, many fans believed that the referee of the fight, Mark Smith, made a late stoppage. MMA fans were vocal about the same and took to Twitter to criticize the referee.
