It’s been over two years since Conor McGregor last fought in the UFC. However, ‘The Notorious’ has kept people engaged in his antics outside the Octagon. A video clip recently surfaced of McGregor breaking the punching machine and the fans shared their reactions to the situation on social media.

After months of speculation regarding his return, Conor McGregor finally entered the USADA’s testing pool. He claimed to have submitted a sample to the liaison between the UFC and USADA, Jeff Novitzky. Meanwhile, he’s been having some fun which has caught the fans’ notice. Conor McGregor breaks the punching machine

People know the former UFC double champion for his exceptional prowess when it comes to striking. He has racked up numerous KO and TKO wins in the course of his MMA career and it is a testament to how good Conor McGregor is on the feet. However, things did not turn out in his favor this time around.

‘The Notorious’ was recently enjoying hanging out with some friends and having some drinks. Thereafter, he tried to test the power of his striking and attempted to throw it down at the punching machine. But the result was not what he expected.

McGregor threw his infamous left cross at the machine. He stretched a bit and set up the machine before the punch and gave it a go. However, he did not seem to have hit it properly as the machine stopped the score at 1 Newton. But the quick-witted Dubliner had the perfect reaction to the incident.

The Irishman joked it off and claimed that he smashed the machine. He said, “Number 1… [I] smashed it, yeah?”  Never one to lack confidence, Conor McGregor walked off the scene feeling accomplished. However, it prompted some hilarious responses from the fans on social media. Let us take a look at what they had to say.

The fans had some funny things to say about Conor McGregor regarding his failed attempt at the punching machine. There were a lot of fans who took shots at the former champion regarding his score of 1 Newton and claimed that he did not break the machine.

Some fans also stated that Conor McGregor was desperate for some attention. Moreover, they also claimed that he has not been so happy since knocking out Jose Aldo at UFC 194. Some still believe that McGregor might even be on steroids.

There were other sets of fans who believed that McGregor’s attempt could be the weakest that the machine had ever recorded. Moreover, he shared a quote from one of his biggest rivals, Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Apart from the fun and games, it is important to note Conor McGregor may be nearing a return. UFC legend Chael Sonnen believed that the Irishman might be bluffing when he said that he submitted a sample for testing and speculated if he had defeated the system. But it seems to be true and McGregor may make his return when UFC 300 arrives. We will have to wait and see what happens in the days to come.
