Dan Hooker Warns Max Holloway on ‘BMF’ title

It appears that the classic ‘Hangman’ is back in the action after suffering two back-back defeats from Islam Makahchev and Arnold Allen. How? Well, the Aussie is currently riding a three-fight winning streak after defeating Claudio Puelles, Jalin Turner, and Mateusz Gamrot. Interestingly, his last fight against Gamrot was a banger which forced the MMA community to believe that the classic ‘Hangman’ is back and it appears that Max Holloway is his next target.

Dan Hooker was recently interviewed by ‘Submission Radio,’ where he was asked about his potential targets concerning the BMF title and Conor McGregor. The Kiwi stated that he likes that multiple options are open for him now, “Oh, definitely, definitely like that there. That’s what the promotion wants—options. And as a fighter, that’s what you want—options—not to chase. Yeah, not to corner yourself and cut your options down.”

He further added, “That definitely is there, but he’s fighting for the… yeah, like, you know, I feel like that fight’s there regardless of whether Max wins or loses. I feel like that BMF fight is something that… um, but as I said, what Michael Chandler did wrong was to sit around and wait. So I can’t honestly say that I’m going to sit around and wait. If I can get one more in, it kind of becomes undeniable—that BMF opportunity.”

There have only been three ‘BMF’ champions to date: Jorge Masvidal, Justin Gaethje, and Max Holloway. Could Dan Hooker be the fourth member on this list, or is he more inclined to fight a MMA superstar in the future? Let’s find out.

‘Hangman’ might be more interested in fighting Conor McGregor in the future

At UFC 305, Dan Hooker made sure that the division takes him as a serious threat. Immediately after defeating Mateusz Gamrot by way of a split decision, ‘Hangman’ wasted no time as he called out Conor McGregor to get back inside the Octagon in his post-fight speech. In his conversation with ‘Submission Radio’, Hooker emphasized that if possible he would like to face Conor McGregor in the coming future

“I feel like it’s a smart option [for Conor]. Are you’re gonna fight a guy in the top five on a three-fight win streak, or are you gonna fight a guy who’s not in the top five and coming off a loss? I’ve been staying active and I’ve been fighting the best guys in the world. He has more to gain from fighting me than he does from Chandler,” said Hooker.
