Dillon Danis is not never far away from controversy. Now and again he comes alive on social media and goes after people and other fighters. The undefeated mixed martial artist recently got in a back-and-forth with journalist Ariel Helwani and regularly calls people out on Twitter.

Danis hasn’t competed since 2019 and has been out of action. He recently underwent surgeries on his knees and is looking to make a comeback soon. However, despite being out of action, he called out one of the top UFC lightweights, Islam Makhachev. He posted a video of the UFC 229 infamous after-fight brawl. The video shows Makhachev being stopped by security.

Along with the video, he wrote, f**k you @MAKHACHEVMMA you absolutely s**k.”

The post-fight brawl ensued when Khabib Nurmagomedov jumped into the crowd and got in a tussle with Danis. He was in the corner of Conor McGregor and didn’t back down at that time.

This kind of post is not new, and fans expect it. However, this time around, the MMA community really went after him.

MMA fans never hold back when they troll someone. ‘El Jefe’ was the latest one who faced the brunt of it after he tweeted the video.

Former UFC fighter, Jake Shields, joined the fun and went after him. He said, “So brave calling out a guy signed to a different promotion then you.”

One fan referred to him getting into brawls outside of the fighting ring and wrote, “You are 2-1 with Uber drivers and one loss to a bouncer.”

Fans even recalled his feud with Ariel Helwani. One fan said, You lost to @arielhelwani, you has been.”

Danis hasn’t been competing but has stayed active on social media. He manages to make headlines and even gets people talking about him. However, one fan roasted him by saying, “Lol the McGregor and Paul clout is running thin.”

Fans are going to keep at it and not let it rest. It will be interesting to see how Danis reacts to this and if there are more posts targeted towards Islam Makhachev.

Danis is planning to return to action soon and has started training. He keeps uploading videos of his workouts online and would love to get back as soon as possible.
