The signing of Orolbai to the UFC marks the first appearance of a fighter from Kyrgyzstan in the UFC. However, it’s interesting to note that both Valentina Shevchenko and Antonina Shevchenko also claim Kyrgyzstan as their birthplace, despite their citizenship in Peru.

Orolbai made his name in the LFA for his smothering wrestling style. As evidenced by the 4 submission victories on his professional record. He holds notable wins over Hayward Charles and Jalin Fuller in the LFA.
