

Meghan Markle is set to launch her podcast soon. Interestingly, her podcast will be on one of the biggest platforms. It will be introduced on Spotify; the same platform which houses ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’.

Rogan has been receiving backlash for some topics he has discussed on his podcast. Many are of the opinion that his podcast spreads misinformation. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry too feel the same and intend to counter this misinformation crisis.

In a statement released by their foundation, they mentioned they will continue working with Spotify but expect the platform to take a step towards the misinformation crisis.

While Markle intends to launch her podcast on the platform, there are several artists who took down their work. As per ‘Vulture‘, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Nils Lofgren, Wendy Zukerman, Blythe Terrell, and many others have boycotted the platform.

According to ‘Newsweek‘, people expect Markle’s solo podcast to release this summer. So it looks like more conversations between Markle and Spotify regarding the issue could be carried out.
A spokesperson from Markle’s Archwell Audio said, “We are encouraged by ongoing conversations we’ve had with Spotify on this shared goal and have been working closely with their team—as well as their senior leadership—towards policies, practices, and strategies meant to raise creator awareness, minimize the spread of misinformation, and support transparency.”

Rogan’s podcast has come under fire for several reasons. The podcaster and UFC commentator has addressed them and provided his perspective. As per Rogan, he wanted to hear narratives that are not mainstream. Further, he also explained the problem he has with things labeled as misinformation.

His podcast is still on Spotify and he regularly posts new episodes with well-known guests. His podcast has millions of listeners and many associate him with free speech as well.
Amidst all the issues around his podcast, Rogan was also absent at UFC 271. However, he resumed his commentary duties at UFC 272. Hence, fans hope to see him call fights at upcoming US-based PPV events.
