Next month will be a test for Team Khabib, as both of their biggest stars are set to face off in what could be a make-or-break fight. Umar Nurmagomedov has the chance of a lifetime to become the bantamweight champion of the world if he can get through the reigning champ, Merab Dvalishvili and the tensions between these two caucasian fighters are at an all-time high right now. The confrontation between the fighters at the UFC 311 pre-fight press conference has only made the situation worse. Interestingly, in a rather threatening manner, ‘The Young Eagle’ has come forward to warn ‘The Machine’

While having a conversation with the media, a host asked the Dagetsani whether Merab Dvalishvili‘s physical conditions are better than his as they both prepare for their clash. This question rather irked Umar Nurmagomedov as ‘The Young Eagle’ claimed that it’s just a matter of time before they clash and it will be decided in the Octagon, “We will find it in the cage,” said Nurmagomedov.

He further added, ” It’s too early to talk about anything or anyone right now. On January 18, we’re going to find out who the better man is. What I will do with him and how the fight will go—I want to visualize all of this. I don’t want to just talk about it.” When ‘The Machine’ clinched the bantamweight title from Sean O’Malley at UFC 306, it was labeled that Dvalishvili was ducking Umar Nurmagomedov as he refused to take his name at the Octagon interview.

However, despite UFC CEO Dana White setting up a potential clash between the two for UFC 311, things got even more heated at the pre-fight press conference. Both fighters nearly came to blows due to a confrontation, which prompted security to intervene. Both of them have a wrestling-heavy background and this clash would mean a five-round wrestling masterclass from the fans. Well, the tension between the fighters might have been the reason why ‘The Machine’ was denied admission to UFC PI.

Merab Dvalishvili accuses UFC P.I to save Umar Nurmagomedov

The reigning bantamweight champion, Merab Dvalishvili is totally not happy with the way he was treated at the UFC Performance Institute and he has put the blame on his challenger, Umar Nurmagomedov. ‘The Machine’ has accused the Las Vegas performance institute denied him entry due to the fact that ‘The Young Eagle’ was training inside the same compound. Dvalishvili emphasized that the security was instructed to keep them apart but the way he was treated was just classless.

“I’m here in front of UFC P.I. and security don’t let me go in because they said Umar Nurmagomedov is inside and they are protecting him… I’m gonna smash this guy because of all the disrespect… You better show up Umar,” said Merab Dvalishvili on his X handle. Both of the bantamweight stars would cross each other’s path in January 2025 at the Inuit Dome in Inglewood, California, and as their rivalry has reached the boiling point, it would not be wrong to state that we ought to witness a bloody clash.

‘The Machine’ has time and time again asserted that Umar Nurmagomedov has been disrespectful towards him and he would make him pay inside the Octagon but will the Georgian fighter breach the Dagestani wall? What are your thoughts on it? State your opinion in the comments below.
