Metallica’s Robert Trujillo Believes UFC’s Biggest Attraction Is the Knockouts

Metallica is definitely one of the most known heavy metal bands in the world. Metallica has been around for decades and has influenced millions of people. They have also won numerous awards for their performances and their iconic music. Some of their most famous songs are ‘nothing else matters’ and enter ‘sandman’. 

The legendary band was first in their time to do a lot of things. They were always standing out from the ordinary and were trying new things. This Sunday, Metallica will perform at an MMA and Boxing event, for the very first time in history. Triad Combat, an event sponsored by the Triller fight club, will end the night with a performance from Metallica. 

Metallica’s lead bassist, Robert Trujillo, recently appeared in an interview with MMAJunkie. In the interview, he spoke about various topics and discussed his interest in MMA.

The Metallica member said that he’s been following boxing for years. Trujillo expressed his interest in the Ultimate Fighting championship too. According to the musician, the knockouts are the most interesting and exciting aspect of the promotion.

“It’s interesting because when I do watch UFC, a lot of the highlight moments. I think most people can agree on this are the knockouts. You know the knockouts that occur in UFC, are what generate a lot of times the most attention, ” said Trujillo.

“What that sort of means to me is that they’re getting into the boxing skill set. They’re utilizing that as a main tool. To get the win… Which is very exciting,” he added.

What to expect before the Metallica performance?

If there’s one thing one can count on, it’s bloodshed, excitement, and violence. Triller’s Triad combat event will feature a number of well-known fighters. Frank Mir and Mike Perry are two of the big names. The Triad combat event is not like any other MMA or boxing match. The rules are new and exciting.

The rules will be a hybrid of mixed martial arts and boxing. No chokeholds or kicks of any kind will be permitted. The gloves used will also be different from those used in other MMA contests. The cage will also be in a never seen before shape: a triangle. This leaves no place to run for the fighters.
