UFC lightweight, Michael Johnson had a chat with Helen Yee recently. Johnson has started a talk show of his own recently with 20 episodes released already. ‘The Meanace’ was asked to share his opinion on who he believes is the greatest UFC fighter of all time by Helen Yee.

While many believe former lightweight kingpin Khabib Nurmagomedov is the consensus G.O.A.T, Johnson believes it’s actually the former light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones who is the greatest. He pointed out the number of champions that ‘Bones’ has beaten to support his argument.

It’s really hard to not say Jon’s at the top of that list. Just based of the champions he has beaten and everybody like that..Khabib is definitely at the top of the list, I don’t think I’d give him the very top of the list just based off of the quality of the opponents that he has beaten based on Jon Jones. So, it’s very tight between those two guys,” said Johnson.

Johnson knows firsthand how tough Nurmagomedov is as a fighter. The duo fought at UFC 205 when ‘The Menace’ took the fight on short notice. Despite rocking the Russian early, Johnson was handed a thorough beating for the rest of the fight before being submitted.

However, Jones has been a dominant force of nature for the better part of the last decade in the UFC’s light-heavyweight division. It’s no surprise that Johnson has picked ‘Bones’ as his choice for the G.O.A.T debate.

Who is Michael Johnson fighting next?

Johnson hasn’t won inside the UFC Octagon since his 2018 win over Artem Lobov. In fact, he has suffered four defeats in the meantime. ‘the Meanace’ will look to bounce back stronger once he is set to return.
