Michael Page is back, and this time with an interesting twist. After entering UFC as a welterweight, the Englishman moved up to the middleweight category following a 1-1 record. His goal was to remain active as the 170-pound division lacked high-ranked opponents for him.

After a successful stint, beating Sharaputdin Magomedov and Jared Cannonier, Page is back to welterweight. In front of him stands Sam Patterson (14-2-1) as his opponent at UFC London this weekend. But before we get to that, let’s get to know the 38-year-old on a personal note.

His brothers, Curtis Jr., Jamie, and Kalon, and his sister Sefena are also martial artists just like their UFC star brother. Apart from that, when we took a deep dive into his family, it revealed an interesting fact. During one of UFC’s countdown episodes, Michael Page noted that he grew up in a family of martial artists because both his parents, Curtis Page Sr. and Pauline Reece, practiced Lau Gar kung fu.

The 38-year-old also added that, in the past, learning kickboxing from a young age helped him stay clear of getting into trouble since his family moved into a pretty rough neighborhood. And clearly, those early age lessons are quite visible in the way he fights like a veteran today.

Page has quite an interesting background and roots Page has. That said, now let’s look into his faith and religious beliefs.

Is Michael Page Christian?

No, Michael ‘Venom’ is not Christian. Although he was raised a Christian, in 2024, he converted to Islam.

“We’ve gone to the Mosque,” said Page on the One on One podcast. “And it was just a very peaceful place that allowed me to manifest and meditate, and it’s just put me in a very nice state. Looking into their practices, I really do feel like they are dedicated to that art of kind of staying there, whereas for me, I was raised Christian…

When I look at Islam and look at the practices of what people do, there’s a lot more dedication, and like the fact, even just the fact of praying five times a day, and just kind of it’s really humbling that the kind of practices that they have to do, so it just sat right with me.”

This clearly shows Page’s stance on his newfound religious belief. Now, whenever he visits any holy Islamic places, the 38-year-old shares the moments on his social media handles.

That said, ‘Venom’ now has a very important fight coming up against Patterson. Citing his parents’ legacy, it will be the cherry on top if he can win the UFC title in the future. But for that, he has to remain consistent and overcome challenges like Patterson.
