Darren Stewart AKA ‘The Dentist’, UFC veteran with 15 octagon appearances, is no longer on the promotion’s roster. Stewart fought the majority of his fights in England and had seven consecutive wins, five of which were by knockout, before signing with the UFC. In England, he was the former Killacam light heavyweight champion. The 30-year-old Englishman’s contract has been terminated following a first-round TKO loss to Dustin Jacoby this past weekend at UFC Vegas 35.

A string of poor performances leads to the exit of the Englishman.

Stewart is made to step down from the UFC after going winless in his last four fights, losing to Kevin Holland, Eryk Anders, and Dustin Jacoby. Stewart also lost the rematch against Eryk Anders via no-contest this past March due to an illegal knee. His last win was a submission finish against Maki Pitolo in August of 2020.

Stewart has struggled to put on impressive performances inside the Octagon recently. The Englishman will need to put in a lot more effort if he wants to return to the UFC, which looks doubtful at this moment. His social media shows him practicing constantly, but it doesn’t appear to be paying off in the octagon.

With the return of Dana White’s Contender Series, UFC is doing some clearing, roster-wise. Roster spots are limited due to the inflow of talent from the Contender series.

Darren Stewart posted on social media on Tuesday he’s still planning on returning to 185 pounds in the future. He leaves the UFC with a record of 5-7 and two no contests. Stewart’s moniker “The Dentist” applies to his opponents, as “he (his opponent) is simply another patient who’s going to get drilled.” However, it appears that his ‘drillings’ have not been very successful recently.
