Miesha Tate Defends Aspen Ladd’s Coach-States It’s a Horrible Thing for Female Fighters to Date Instructors

Miesha Tate is an idol for many female fighters in the sport. former UFC bantamweight champion Miesha Tate is fighting Ketlen Vieira in a bantamweight main event this upcoming weekend. The 5’6″ American once again spoke up opposing Aspen Ladd following their disagreement in recent weeks. Previous remarks occurred after Ladd failed to make weight for her battle with Macy Chiasson. They called it off owing to worries about Ladd’s health.

‘Cupcake’ and Ladd have been verbally fighting for quite some time now. Recently, the sensitive topic of coaches dating fighters came up again. This time Tate advised Ladd that being coached by someone you also date is not a wise decision.

Tate’s experiences and current take

Miesha Tate is no stranger to dating UFC fighters that doubled as her coach and boyfriend. She previously dated former UFC veteran Bryan Caraway, who coached her for most of her MMA journey. During her interview on MMA Hour, she shared her thoughts and views with Ariel Helwani.

She stated  “ We don’t have someone who’s in charge of the other one, we are just there to support each other because it’s difficult when someone always gets to be the boss of you, and that translates over into the personal life, too, where you just start to feel like you lose yourself. Because where do you draw the line? Where’s the difference?”.

Currently, Tate is married to pro lightweight fighter Jonathan Nunez. She has two beautiful kids with him.

Upcoming fights of Miesha Tate

Miesha Tate will fight Ketlen Vieira on the upcoming UFC Fight Night 198. Following her five-year retirement, she recently defeated Marion Reneau. Surprisingly, she appears in the best fighting form she has ever been in. Though, her opposition, Ketlen Vieira, is also looking good.

The Brazilian will be looking to finish Tate off to earn well-deserved respect back. Previously, “Fenomeno” has suffered a severe knee injury that sidelined her for over a year.
