“Might Be a Bad Idea” – Sean O’Malley Ditches Infamous Habit That Joe Rogan Enjoys Hoping for the Best Against Aljamain Sterling at UFC 292, Fans React

UFC 292 has the fans excited for the match between the challenger, Sean O’Malley, and the champion Aljamain Sterling. It goes without saying that the UFC world deems ‘Funkmaster’ to be one of the toughest opponents for O’Malley. Even ‘Sugar’ seemed to think in a similar fashion as he decided to quit one habit that even Joe Rogan indulges in. The fighter showed how serious he was regarding his next opponent.

The beloved UFC color commentator is infamous for smoking marijuana. There are many instances where Rogan talked about the natural psychedelic. However, he once revealed that he stayed away from it until he was 30 years old. And post O’Malley’s revelation about quitting the drug for his next fight, fans had some interesting reactions to share.

Fans react to Sean O’Malley dropping a habit

Talking to Ariel Helwani, on The MMA Hour, O’Malley dropped a bombshell. He declared, “It’s probably been about 3 weeks already [of no weed]. No issue… this is the first time I haven’t streamed in my UFC career. I haven’t been gaming at all. Just extra focused on the task at hand.”

The fighter seemed focused on fighting Sterling and claiming the belt. However, the fans had a different set of opinions. When the quotes landed on Facebook, the fans expressed themselves via the comments section. Some fans thought that it might be nothing but a bad idea.

  • I feel like not doing what you’ve regularly done to get you to where you’re at…….might be a bad idea. Lol

A few other fans believed it wasn’t enough to defeat Sterling. He was simply stronger. 

  • It doesn’t matter what he does to be honest. Sterling is on another level that he can’t even reach.
  • You’re gonna need it bud! Aljo’s coming for that neck

One fan declared that O’Malley needed all the help he could get. 

  • You need all the help you can get. Hopefully. It won’t come from the judges

Nevertheless, few of the fans commended the fighter for his dedication to the fight.

  • New mythical fighter: Sober Sean
  • 3 whole weeks sober, now that’s focus!
  • Him changing his routine say a lot about his opponent.

But only time has the power to accurately predict whether the sacrifice was worth it.

The podcaster, who once smoked marijuana with the CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk, is quite famous for the habit that O’Malley recently gave up. However, there is a little secret behind his habit. Although he claims to enjoy the activity, he avoided cannabis with all his might in his younger days.

In episode #1962 of the JRE, Rogan said, “It makes sense if you are just like hold fast from high school and you are like this isn’t for me I see where this goes, I see where these people are going, I was on that kind of path until I was like 30. I was on this path that Marijuana was for losers. It will kill your ambition.”
