In an interview with Michael Bisping, ‘The Diamond said, “I did see a picture. He does look a little puffy man, might want to slow down on the Black Forge, whatever he’s got going on.”
‘The Diamond’ is all set to challenge Charles Oliveira for the lightweight gold this Saturday. This is Poirier’s second undisputed title shot in his UFC career. In his first title shot, ‘The Diamond’ was submitted against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 242. With that experience under his belt, he will look to use it against ‘Do Bronx’.

Many have speculated on retirement from the 32-year-old after his title fight. However, Poirier has some other plans if he becomes the champion on 11th December.

The one accolade missing from his list is that of a UFC champion. Hence, many believed that he might retire from professional fighting if he realizes that dream.
However, in an interview with Michael Bisping, Poirier revealed what he will do next if becomes the champion at UFC 269. He said, “I see a lot of fighters trying to get every last drop out of their career and leave a lot of themselves out there and I don’t wanna do that.”

“I’ve been fighting a long time. I had my first fight at 18 years old. So, I don’t think I am going anywhere, I think I might fight less frequently. I just love fighting, and it’s who I am. I think win, lose or draw, Saturday night. I’m not going to fight three times a year moving forward.”
