Mike Perry has some harsh words for Dana White. In 2021, the former UFC welterweight left the company and joined Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC). Ever since then, he has been vocal about sharing his thoughts and opinions on UFC, especially White. Recently, he lashed out at his former boss for being a “rich a**hole,” and not worrying about fighters enough.

His rant made headlines in the MMA world and ignited several distinct opinions. Thereafter, he followed up on this debacle with an unexpected statement. What did he say? Let’s find out.

A recent Instagram post from the Overdogspodcast account showcased a rant by Mike Perry. Moreover, the post caught the attention of the fighter himself, who saw certain opinions from the fans. Subsequently, he commented on the post and clarified that he was having a rough day and might have exaggerated on his opinions.

In the clip, we can see the interviewer ask Perry on the podcast about some of White’s recent statements. It seemed to be the UFC CEO’s comments about Merab Dvalishvili not wanting to fight his friend Aljamain Sterling for the bantamweight title when he had the opportunity.

The clip showed a few snippets of Perry’s response edited together, and he was not holding back. “Was that sarcasm?” he said, referring to White’s statement. “They f***ing pick and choose whoever the f*** they want. They do whatever the f*** they want and no one can tell him anything about it.”

He further slandered his former promotion, saying, “It’s funny because… they want to be NFL/NBA of combat sports, but they don’t f***ing act like it. They’re still f***ing rude, disrespectful, rich a**holes who don’t give a f*** about these fighters or anyone who f***ing puts their life on the line to do this sh*t.”

Coming back to White’s response, ‘Platinum’ said, “Wherever their f***ing head’s at, it’s a whim… It’s f***ing childish.” However, his mood was quite far off from what we saw in the clip when he responded.

After the interview, he commented, “Hey I was just feeling some type of way. At the end of the day, it’s all good. These guys are gonna do what they’re gonna do. Fighters and promoters.” Perhaps Perry did not realize at the moment how harsh he was being with his former employers. Or maybe he just wants his fans to know that this was how things are run in the combat sports business no matter who rants against it.

Interestingly, this is not the first time the 4-0 BKFC star has cut White some slack. Back when the whole world was against the UFC CEO for an unforgivable offense he made in public, Perry, surprisingly, showed a different perspective.

When Perry put himself in White’s shoes

During the 2023 New Year’s Eve, a video was released by TMZ in which White, who appeared to be celebrating New Year’s Eve with his wife at the club, got into an altercation with her. They were having a tussle, and it resorted to a violent route after his wife raised her hand on him, which provoked him to respond in kind.

Perry felt such an act by White was worthy of criticism, and he did just that. According to MMA junkie, he said, “He definitely had no excuses.” However, he followed up by saying, “How long has that guy been in the public eye? For so many years, and for something like this to happen … maybe he grabbed her wrist, she struck him, he struck back, alcohol involved, New Year’s [Eve], tough times. Man, people go through that.”

The incident is now a story of the past but White faced serious repercussions when he was in the thick of it. His dream project ‘Power Slap’s debut on TBS had to be delayed after the controversy came to light. Despite all this, Perry tried to be the voice of reason. What do you make of these displays of different emotions the former UFC star has displayed for his former boss? Let us know in the comments.
