However, the latest incident involving Sean Strickland and a brawl with Dricus Du Plessis has taken things to a whole new level. The featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski, who was just near them, stated that the fight started very soon and they were expecting it to happen.

Volkanovski stated on his YouTube channel that the security escorted Strickland out of the arena and let Du Plessis stay. The featherweight champion further adds that despite being in the front row of the brawl, he couldn’t get his phone out to capture the event. “So, I’ve already got a smirk on my face. I didn’t get my phone out,” said Volkanovski, and then “Volk” gave us the revelation that Strickland was going for the ear bite just like Mike Tyson.

He further added “I would have had a perfect view of the bite if that was actually happening. So if anyone has footage or hasn’t really looked at it, see if you can see maybe he was trying to go for a bite to the ear, Mike Tyson style, because that could have happened, and that would be a pretty funny and extra element to that whole story.”

Du Plessis’ comments were a personal attack on Strickland, and they deeply affected him.
